11. Bangalore: The capital of Karnataka, it is also known as 'City of Gardens'. 'Lal Bagh' with its beautiful fountains, lotus pools, array of old trees is beautyin itself. 26. Bhakra –Nangal Project: Situated about 362 km (225 miles) north of Delhi, in a gorge of the green Shivalik hills, is India’s biggest multi purpose rivers valley project. It consists of a 226 m. (740 feet) high dam at Bhakra on the Satluj river – the highest dam in the world, a huge reservoir about 171 sq km .(66 sq. miles) in area, a small diversion dam 13 km. (8 miles) downstream at Nangal with power houses on the Nangal hydel canal and a 4,828 km (3,000 miles) network of canals and distributaries.

27.  Aurangabad: Aurangabad is 375 kms (233 miles) from Mumbai by rail and an hours journey by air is the most convenient point for visiting the world-famous caves of Ajanta and Ellora.
